The upcoming 2025 Kia Carnival hybrid is $2,000 pricier than its counterpart, the Carnival LXS
Pricing spectrum for the 2025 Kia Carnival hybrid ranges from $41,895 to $53,395
As the hybrid variant joins the ranks alongside the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica, the Honda Odyssey remains as the sole model without a hybrid version

The reimagined 2025 Kia Carnival minivan ushers in an updated aesthetic, advanced technology, an inaugural hybrid variant, coupled with a price jump starting from $3,330 above the 2024 iteration. The entry-level Carnival LX commands a price of $37,895, inclusive of the obligatory $1,395 destination charge.

In its 2025 renovation, the Carnival dons an updated visage featuring an expanded grille and amber daylight running lamps, drawing design inspiration from the lighting scheme of the Kia Telluride SUV. A default setup of eight seats includes a versatile second row that can be taken out, while the third row neatly folds away into the floor. However, the Chrysler Pacifica is currently the sole minivan offering second-row seats that tuck away into the floor. Select the seven-seat configuration to gain captain’s chairs in the second row that offer reclining and footrest options.

Spanning across five trims – LX, LXS, EX, SX, and SX Prestige – the 2025 Carnival excludes the hybrid system only from the base LX model. Each Carnival is equipped with automated braking with pedestrian recognition, adaptive lane management, and blind spot detection as standard features.

Among the baseline amenities are powered sliding doors, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with cordless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a sextet of USB outlets, all riding atop 18-inch alloy wheels.

Carrying over its propulsion system, the exclusive gasoline-powered Carnival maintains a 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivering 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, partnered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that propels the front wheels. While the Pacifica and the Sienna offer all-wheel drive options, the Pacifica’s plug-in hybrid variant stands out with a 32-mile electric-only driving range. In contrast, the Sienna is the solitary minivan that defaults to a traditional hybrid system, yielding a combined fuel efficiency of 36 mpg, which drops to 35 mpg with the all-wheel drive version.

The latest hybrid addition to the 2025 Kia Carnival combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 54-kw electric engine for a total prowess of 242 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Taken from the likes of the Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage hybrids, the transmission is a 6-speed automatic geared for front-wheel drive exclusively. The hybrid model boasts 17-inch wheels designed for enhanced aerodynamics and features active grille vents.

The hybrid Carnival begins at the LXS trim level, commanding a label of $41,895 when including the $1,395 destination charge, marking a $2,000 difference above the V-6 LXS version.

The EX variant of the hybrid is tagged at $44,095 and mirrors the gas-powered EX, improving upon it with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, an internal camera and intercommunication system, and a command recognition setup capable of adjusting temperature and window positions, on top of managing navigation and media functions.

While Kia has not laid out the complete details for every trim level, the price for the Hybrid SX edition stands at $48,995, and the uppermost Hybrid SX Prestige is priced at $53,995.

Although the hybrid’s official fuel economy figures are yet to be published, the non-hybrid V-6 Carnival is rated at 18 mpg in urban settings, 26 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg combined.
