Toyota has revealed the fresh 2024 Tacoma, which represents a notable advancement compared to its prior model, boasting enhancements that position it ahead of its rivals in the midsize truck category.
While the earlier generation Tacoma featured an outdated interior and lackluster engine, it managed to maintain its leadership in the segment. The 2024 Tacoma shifts to a novel platform, shared with the larger Tundra, incorporating a fully boxed frame. Furthermore, enhancements have been made to the suspension and disc brakes at all corners to enhance braking performance. The external appearance now exudes an even tougher aura, solidifying its position as one of the most visually appealing trucks in its class.
With regards to the powertrain, the previous engines have been revamped, replaced by two iterations of the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering enhanced performance and efficiency. The new engine and platform bring about substantial improvements to the Tacoma’s on-road demeanor, providing increased torque and a more comfortable ride.
The 2024 Tacoma also witnesses advancements in its ride comfort and handling, thanks to a more rigid chassis and new suspension setup, resulting in a smoother ride. Various trim levels come with distinct shock absorbers tailored for specific functionalities like off-road driving.
Internally, the seating elevation has been raised for enhanced comfort, while the dashboard exhibits a more contemporary design. The infotainment system has undergone improvements, now featuring wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, the Tacoma now incorporates the latest iteration of the Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance systems.
The 2024 Tacoma starts at a base price of $32,995, with pricing fluctuating based on the trim level and included features.
In summary, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma represents a significant leap forward from its forerunner, offering a more competitive powertrain, improved ride quality and handling, and an updated interior.
