Tacoma Receives the Title of 2023 SEMA Best Midsize Pickup, Making it the Third Consecutive Year That Toyota Vehicles Have Been Acknowledged at the SEMA Exhibition

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 30, 2023) – The newly introduced Toyota Tacoma has been designated by SEMA participating firms as the victor of the 2023 SEMA Top Midsize Truck award. This accolade marks the second instance within three years that Toyota has emerged triumphant in the Best Midsize Truck classification and signifies the third continuous year that Toyota models have been commended, which includes the 2021 Midsize Truck of the Year for Tacoma, the 2021 Sport Compact of the Year for GR Supra, and the 2022 Sport Compact of the Year for GR86. Furthermore, Toyota was identified as a finalist in four distinct vehicle categories for the year 2023.

“Congratulations to Toyota and the all-new Tacoma on capturing the prestigious SEMA Midsize Truck accolade,” stated Mike Spagnola, the CEO and president of SEMA. “This victory underscores Toyota’s unwavering dedication to developing industry-leading products that genuinely captivate consumers as well as the custom automotive market.”

Toyota is presenting a wide array of featured vehicles and design concepts, alongside a selection of production automobiles, SUVs, and trucks at its exhibition during the SEMA Exhibition (Central Hall, Booth No. 22200 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, 2023). This exhibit underscores Toyota’s commitment to the automotive custom market and its emphasis on both on-road and off-road performance, excitement, and exploration.

“We take great pride in earning the title of SEMA Midsize Truck of the Year,” said Mike Tripp, Toyota Marketing’s group vice president. “The SEMA Awards celebrate the artistry and customization that are highly valued by our customers. For the 2024 lineup, we have crafted a Tacoma for every individual and lifestyle, providing the adaptability for customers to embark on their unique adventures and redefine the limits of what is achievable,” Tripp affirmed.

Toyota is unveiling seven 2024 Tacoma models, showcasing only a handful of the numerous possibilities that the Tacoma range offers. These exclusive concepts and tailored builds incorporate the Tacoma Blue Beetle, in addition to custom versions of Tacoma TrailHunter, Tacoma TRD Pro, Tacoma TRD Off-Road, and more. Toyota is also introducing the 2024 Tacoma X-Runner Concept, which represents the vision of the Toyota Calty Design Studio regarding the appearance and performance of a lowered street truck powered by a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6, exhibiting the versatility provided by Tacoma’s TGNA-F product foundation.
