The 2025 Subaru Ascent no longer includes a literal Base trim, with the Ascent Premium listed at $40,215, which encompasses a $1,420 destination charge.
This represents an increase of over $2,000 compared to the 2024 Ascent Premium, but as the prior Convenience Package is now incorporated into the 2025 Ascent Premium as standard equipment, Subaru stated last week that it’s only a $340 increase from the previous year. The 2025 model year of Ascent also introduces new Bronze and Onyx Touring variants.
The Convenience Package introduces blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency steering to the collection of driver-assistance technologies available in the 2025 Subaru Ascent. Additionally, a standard emergency stopping system identifies if a driver is unresponsive while adaptive cruise control is engaged; it then halts the vehicle, activates the hazard lights, unlocks the doors, and contacts emergency services. Also included as standard are automatic emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, adaptive cruise control, active lane management, and adaptive LED headlights.
Included standard convenience features consist of a power liftgate, a power driver’s seat, textile seating, 18-inch alloy wheels, a satellite radio trial, at least two USB outlets (USB-A and USB-C), and a vertically oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It additionally features heated front seating and heated side mirrors.
The Ascent Premium accommodates eight individuals; however, captain’s chairs for the second row, allowing for seven passengers, can be chosen at no additional charge for $40,215. Each 2025 Ascent is powered by a 260-hp 2.4-liter flat-4 engine coupled with a CVT that simulates gear shifts and distributes power to all four wheels for standard all-wheel drive.
The $43,615 Onyx model returns with blacked-out features, which include 20-inch alloy wheels on the exterior and water-resistant upholstery within. It also provides a heated steering wheel, LED fog lamps, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-function X-Mode that enhances torque at lower speeds to help extricate the vehicle from challenging terrain.
The $47,415 Limited can also be configured for seven or eight seats at no additional cost. The Limited variant introduces two USB-A ports to the third-row seats, alongside a surround-view camera system, navigation, and Harman Kardon audio with 14 speakers. This equipment was part of a previous year’s optional package. Also included as standard are leather seating, enhanced power functions for the front seats, and heated rear outboard seating.
For a touch more luxury, the $48,415 Bronze Edition enhances the Limited with 20-inch alloy wheels featuring bronze accents, along with bronze detailing on the body cladding and interior accent stitching.
The seven-seat Touring showcases a wood-patterned trim on the dashboard and perforated nappa leather seats. Cooled front seats and rain-sensing wipers are also part of the Touring’s amenities. It is priced at $50,415.
The Onyx Edition Touring adds another $1,000, bringing it to the top of the lineup at $51,415. It combines the Onyx’s dark aesthetic with the Touring’s premium features.
Manufactured in Lafayette, Indiana, the 2025 Subaru Ascent is set to launch this autumn.
