The freshest Vantage model from Aston Martin steps up to take on the role of the Official FIA Safety Car for Formula 1 in the year 2024. This high-powered Vantage is crafted to lead the Formula 1 vehicles through the diverse Grand Prix tracks across the globe, displaying its dominance at the vanguard of motorsports.

A modified iteration of the Vantage will steer the Formula 1 vehicles on the formation lap before the 2024 FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX, positioning itself at the exit of the pit lane, poised to react promptly if necessary to regulate the race tempo. Unveiled alongside the Vantage GT3 racer and AMR24 F1 challenger a few weeks prior, the new Vantage exemplifies Aston Martin’s extensive tradition of performance and revolution, accentuating its evolutionary journey spanning 111 years.

Expressing his thoughts, Marco Mattiacci, Aston Martin’s Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer expressed: “Vantage forms the essence of the Aston Martin brand, hence having the swiftest, most driver-focused Vantage serving as a pivotal component of the renowned FIA Formula One World Championship™ fills us with pride. In terms of brand recognition, F1® stands unparalleled as a global, high-octane sport. Building upon the natural affiliations between the sport and Aston Martin, racing aficionados will not only witness the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team AMR24 in action but also our two most exhilarating performance models, Vantage and the acclaimed DBX707.”

Propelled by a robust, handcrafted 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 engine, the newest Vantage emerges as the quickest iteration, boasting a 30% power escalation compared to its forerunner. This guarantees that the Vantage Safety Car accelerates swiftly when required. The fresh production-ready Vantage is so high-performing that it did not necessitate any alterations to its engine, cooling system, or braking prowess to be tailored as the FIA Safety Car. It was meticulously designed for this significant responsibility.

The Aston Martin Vantage Pace Car garners admiration from Bernd Mayländer, FIA Safety Car Driver. He lauds its speed and focus, showcasing enhanced handling and power. Mayländer appreciates the car’s performance, empowering rapid and secure responses for on-track deployment. Steering the Vantage has been a delightful experience for him over the previous seasons, and he is excited to be among the pioneers in exploring the full potential of the new Vantage on premium racing circuits.

Known as the most athletic model in the Aston Martin lineup, the Aston Martin Vantage underwent rigorous modifications to function as the Official FIA Safety Car for Formula 1®. To amplify its performance on the tracks, this distinct car incorporates enriched underfloor aerodynamics, an extended front splitter, and a fresh rear wing positioned for elevated downforce with a tuned Gurney flap. The FIA lightbar on the car has been aerodynamically tailored to ensure peak performance when leading the Formula 1® vehicles with rapidly cooling tires.

Within the Vantage Safety Car, various systems are in place to aid the driver and passenger in their responsibilities. The production seats have been swapped with Pole Position Seats to securely anchor FIA Safety Car driver, Bernd Mayländer, and his passenger during high-speed drives. A customized center console is outfitted with controls to manage the FIA systems, in addition to screens displaying real-time lap timings, the track positioning of all the vehicles, and a rear-view camera. Despite being functional, the Safety Car retains the elegance of an Aston Martin with its cabin adorned in a distinctive Lime Essence trim as a homage to the marque’s racing hues.

Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s Group Chief Technology Officer, remarked: “Every facet of the Vantage, spanning from the design to the technology, has been embedded into the new F1® Safety Car, enabling enthusiasts to truly relish its speed and driver-centric aspect. This latest variant of the Vantage, already acknowledged as the fastest and most focused one yet, aligns perfectly with this role. Transforming it into the Official FIA Safety Car of Formula 1® entailed fitting all the requisite FIA equipment. Additionally, it incorporates supplementary aerodynamic components not present on the standard road car, ensuring its capacity to perform on the racetrack and exhibit its capabilities.”of the brand’s newest ultra-luxury high-performance vehicle.”
