The Porsche 908/3 was a distinctive vehicle crafted by Porsche for use on two specific tracks during the 1970 and 1971 World Sportscar Championship seasons. It gained fame for its lightweight construction and excellent weight distribution, marking it as innovative for its era.

Featuring a reliable and potent eight-cylinder flat 908 engine, which underwent initial trials in fall of 1967, it was tailored for the three-liter prototypes utilized from 1968 onward. The air-cooled 2,997 cc twin-valve engine initially generated around 340 hp, later escalating to 370 hp.

The engine was also fine-tuned for reduced weight, incorporating elements like titanium connecting rods, aluminum cylinders and heads, magnesium casing, and, from 1969 onwards, a magnesium alloy crankcase, collectively trimming its weight to approximately 180 kilograms.

Witness the Porsche 908/3 in motion as it competes on the challenging Swiss Bernina mountain pass and savor the dynamic roar of its 3.0 liter flat-8 engine!
