One could assume that Porsche would be content with the current range of the Taycan, which already boasts various versions, ranging from the standard variant to the potent Turbo S. With a choice of two distinct body shapes, the options for speed and elegance seem limitless.

However, the German car manufacturer has consistently been pushing the boundaries of performance, upholding a belief of “there’s always scope for enhancement.” This dedication to ongoing progress has kept Porsche enthusiasts and vehicle admirers eagerly awaiting what lies ahead.

Even though the Turbo S models already deliver remarkable performance, Porsche recognized the potential for a more high-performance version akin to the GT4, GT3, and GT2 models. Although details about this new Taycan variation are still undisclosed, there are rumors that it might be named the “Turbo GT.”

The Lap Time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

At first glance, it may just appear as a figure. However, when viewed in context, it becomes evident that this accomplishment places the upcoming Porsche Taycan variation in an exclusive category, comparable to the automaker’s leading 911 GT3 and GT3 RS models, and nearing the benchmark setters of under 7 minutes. It is also nearly as swift as the relatively recent Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS MR.

This image displays a Porsche Taycan GT cruising on the Nurburgring. The vehicle has surpassed the Porsche Taycan Turbo S timing by 26 seconds and the Tesla Model S Plaid timing by over 17 seconds. However, it fell slightly behind the Rimac Nevera, which currently holds the electric vehicle (EV) track record.

The remarkable performance of the Porsche Taycan GT is noteworthy considering its relatively lower price and the capability to seat up to five passengers.
