A Urus Performante from Lamborghini has been granted to the Italian law enforcement agency. It is set to become a part of the highway patrol unit alongside the Huracan LP610-4 in 2024 and will be utilized for specialized tasks like the swift transport of organs and plasma for medical purposes.
Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, expressed, “It gives me immense joy to extend our two-decade collaboration with the Italian State Police. The knowledge that our vehicles are employed for public services, particularly for critical missions aimed at preserving human lives, fills both me and the entire organization with pride. These actions, which bring us immense contentment, underscore the deep-rooted bond we share with Italy.”
Adorned in the traditional blue and white colors of the Italian State Police, the Urus Performante features tricolor stripes on the side sills and seat belts. Reflective film has been used to apply police emblems on the doors, while a 360° blue LED light bar has been mounted on the roof, accompanied by a dual-tone electric siren.
The interior of the vehicle has been customized with various features essential for law enforcement tasks, such as an armored weapon compartment, a retractable message display, and a specialized storage area in the trunk for carrying service tools and a defibrillator for immediate medical response. Furthermore, a portable refrigerator for organ transport has been installed, complete with a monitor and data recorder for constant monitoring of internal temperature.
Equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the Urus delivers 657 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and boasts a top speed of 190 mph.
