The 2025 Kia Sportage compact crossover starts at $28,565, including destination fees, which remains unchanged from the previous year. Compared to competitors like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, the hybrid models from Kia offer a good value. For instance, the high-end 2025 Kia Sportage X-Line Prestige plug-in hybrid is priced at $45,565.

The 2025 Kia Sportage compact crossover maintains its pricing structure for the upcoming year, with minor adjustments of $100 depending on the particular model. Kia’s announcement on Monday revealed that the Sportage LX starts at $28,565, along with a $1,375 destination fee. Conversely, the LX hybrid variant costs $1,400 more.

Unlike the 2024 Sportage, where gas models experienced a price increase of at least $800, the 2025 models are keeping prices steady. In the previous year, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions were at least $1,000 more expensive with minimal changes.

The notable updates for the new model year include the introduction of a Premium Package for the EX trim, featuring a sunroof and hands-free tailgate. Additionally, the X-Line and X-Pro trims now boast a popular blacked-out design for the exterior trim and wheels.

The Kia Sportage gas models in 2025 are equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine generating 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. This engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. While all-wheel drive is an extra $1,800 across most models, it comes as standard on the X variants. Kia offers a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty on all their vehicles.

Each Sportage variant comes standard with safety features such as LED headlights, automatic emergency braking, active lane control, parking sensors, and a rear-occupant alert system. The interior is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth connectivity for two phones simultaneously. The vehicles ride on 17-inch wheels.

The Sportage lineup is available in various grades, including LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige. The EX model, priced at $30,665, comes with upgraded features like 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. It also includes blind-spot monitors and a safe-exit warning system.

For $34,165, the SX model offers advanced features such as navigation-based adaptive cruise control and a premium Harman Kardon sound system. Opting for the SX Prestige, priced at $36,165, adds 19-inch wheels, premium synthetic leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and parking sensors. All-wheel drive can be added for an extra $1,800.

The X-Line and X-Pro models, priced at $33,465 and $37,665 respectively, come standard with AWD. While both models feature blacked out trim pieces, the X-Pro offers increased off-road capabilities with 17-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tires and a locking center differential.

In the hybrid line-up, the Sportage offers LX, EX, and SX-Prestige models with similar features to their gas-powered counterparts except for the powertrain. The LX hybrid model, priced at $29,965, includes front-wheel drive, with the AWD option available at $31,765.

At only $1,400 more than the gas variant, the Sportage Hybrid is a cost-effective choice compared to competitors. For instance, it is considerably less expensive than the 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with AWD priced at $33,075 and the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid with a starting price of $35,700 for front-wheel drive.

The hybrid versions are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo-4 engine, an electric motor, and a 1.49-kwh lithium-ion battery pack, delivering 227 hp. The Sportage Hybrid delivers a fuel economy of 42/44/43 mpg, which slightly decreases to 38 mpg combined with AWD.

In the plug-in hybrid lineup, the 2024 Kia Sportage plug-in hybrid models, the X-Line and X-Line Prestige, come with all-wheel drive as standard. The X-Line is priced at $41,065, while the fully equipped X-Line Prestige costs $45,565.

The plug-in hybrid variant of the Sportage uses the same 1.6-liter turbo-4 engine as the Hybrid model, but with a larger electric motor generating a combined output of 261 hp and 258 lb-ft. This system integrates a 6-speed automatic transmission with a clutch for full electric power utilization. The 13.8-kwh battery pack allows for 34 miles of electric range. In optimal conditions, the Sportage PHEV can achieve an efficiency equivalent to 84 mpg, or maintain a 35 mpg combined rating when operating solely on gasoline.

Expect the extensive 2025 Kia Sportage range to hit the market in the near future.
