The renowned Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France holds a special place as an early version of the 250 GT SWB and the 250 GTO, making it a prized possession for collectors. Today, these rare competition editions of the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France, with rich historical backgrounds and well-documented lineage, continue to be highly coveted.

These vehicles are admired for their exquisite Scaglietti design, outstanding speed, engineering brilliance, and unforgettable presence during the significant era of motorsports competition.

The 250 GT Tour de France is widely recognized as a top choice for various esteemed vintage races like the Colorado Grand, California Mile, and the Mille Storico (Mille Miglia) in Italy. It is believed that Ferrari produced around 90 units of the 250 GT Tour de France models from 1956 to 1959.

Over a span of four years, Ferrari dominated the Tour de France race, clinching victory for four consecutive years, with the legendary driver Oliver Gendebien claiming three of those triumphs. Gendebien also steered the Ferrari 250 TdF to a first-place finish in the GT category and secured third place overall at the final Mille Miglia, now recognized as Mille Storico.

Although Ferrari showcased exceptional performances at the Tour de France competition, the brand did not officially adopt the “Tour de France” title until after their series of wins at the event. It was during this time that Ferrari cemented its legacy, accumulating triumph after triumph at race circuits across the globe. The 250 GT Tour de France consistently highlighted Ferrari’s position as a dominant force in European motorsports and a key influencer in the development of sports cars.
