Rarely do we get the chance to witness the iconic Ford GT being driven to its limits on a public highway. The Ford GT is undeniably a motoring symbol and a high-performance vehicle that can achieve speeds exceeding 200 mph. However, there are very few roads that permit speeds beyond 100 mph, much less 200. Fortunately, courtesy of the individuals at AutoTopNL, we can now observe a high-speed demonstration of the Ford GT in this clip.
AutoTopNL obtained a customized 2006 Ford GT with Stage 1 enhancement, which boosts the power output to 600 hp, and opted to assess its capabilities with a high-speed trial on the Autobahn.
Even in its original setup, the Ford GT is by no means sluggish. Its 5.4-liter all-aluminum V8 motor generates 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. With these power numbers, the vehicle can go from 0 to 62 mph in merely 3.8 seconds, while it requires twice that duration to hit 124 mph. The Ford GT boasts an impressive top speed of 205 mph.
