Acura has officially announced the return of its RSX nameplate later this year, this time for an electric crossover.
The original RSX, known as the Honda Integra in markets outside the United States, was a sporty coupe produced in the early 2000s. In a statement released on January 15, Acura indicated that the new model will honor the legacy of its predecessor by incorporating a coupe-like silhouette and an enjoyable driving experience.

A teaser image of a camouflaged prototype was shared alongside the announcement, revealing a vehicle with four doors, a liftback tailgate, and flush door handles. Acura noted that the design was inspired by last year’s Performance EV concept car.
Production will take place at the Honda EV Hub plant located in Marysville, Ohio, starting in late 2025, which suggests the new RSX could debut as a 2026 model in the U.S. Prototype testing on public roads is set to begin this week.
This vehicle will be the first to utilize a new EV platform developed internally by Honda, diverging from Acura’s first electric vehicle, the ZDX, which utilizes General Motors’ platform and production facilities.
The new platform will also support Honda’s proprietary ASIMO OS software and will be the foundation for Honda’s 0 SUV and 0 Saloon models, which were showcased earlier this month at the 2025 CES event in Las Vegas. Production for the new 0 Series vehicles is slated to begin at the Marysville factory in 2026.
Honda has indicated that it utilized its Formula 1 expertise—specifically its recent role as a power unit supplier for the championship-winning Red Bull Racing team—to help develop a platform that is both thin and lightweight. The automaker has hinted at achieving a weight reduction of about 220 pounds compared to previous EV platforms, which should be advantageous for performance-oriented vehicles that will use this platform, possibly including a new Acura NSX supercar.
Additionally, on January 15, Acura announced that its new ADX compact crossover is expected to begin sales this spring, alongside an updated Integra compact hatchback featuring both exterior and interior enhancements later in the year.
