Experience the Thrill of Driving the 2026 Chevy Silverado with a Powerful 1,000 HP and Classic Stick Shift Features

Specialty Vehicle Engineering may not center its focus on valve body issues with their six-speed swap, yet this change offers a notable advantage. And note the jaw-dropping 1,000 horsepower. Suddenly, the option of a manual transmission turns into an enticing feature. The specific transmission choice from SVE isn’t clearly laid out in the docs, but it’s likely a modified version of the Tremec gearbox previously found in the departed Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Importantly, this truck is designed for rear-wheel drive only.

Keep in mind, this isn’t a budget-friendly vehicle. Priced at $89,995, not including the base truck (the entry-level 6.2-liter Silverado starts around half that), buyers should expect a well-thought-out list of features. The build sheet is exceptionally detailed, inviting a closer inspection of its key specs.

The powertrain is undoubtedly the star of the show. It features a forged steel crank, upgraded rods, lightweight forged aluminum pistons, enhanced cylinder heads, and a high-flow fuel system with improved injectors. SVE offers tuning options compatible with both 91- and 93-octane fuel, but keep in mind that opting for 91 will limit your horsepower.

This is significant when you consider the usual costs tied to comprehensive engine packages. For example, Mopar Direct Connection charges around $35,000 just for a 1,000-horsepower Hellcat crate motor. Therefore, for a price similar to a fully-equipped CT5-V Blackwing, which is a complete vehicle rather than just an engine swap, buyers can rightfully anticipate more—and they’ll get it. The substantial brakes originate from GM but receive SVE enhancements before they’re installed, adding value and ensuring they fit the Yenko branding consistently across the truck. Additional costs apply for rear brake and side stripe paint upgrades ($1,495 and $495, respectively). The cat-back exhaust system delivers an appealing sound.

The suspension modifications lower the truck by two inches, improving its stance and traction thanks to the unique 22-inch Yenko forged aluminum wheels, shod with Nitto performance tires. The specific tire model remains unconfirmed, but the prototype truck appears to sport RT555RII drag radials.

So, for an investment of roughly $150,000, you can claim a 1,000-horsepower, manual, rear-wheel-drive Chevy Silverado street truck. Who’s ready to take it for a spin?
