The introductory Jetta S from VW sees a cost decrease of roughly $200 this annum, concerning the models with automatic transmissions. The previous 6-speed stick shift in the standard Jetta, barring the GLI variant, is no longer available. Refreshed frontal and posterior designs align with the now-standard 8.0-inch touchscreen display
Slated for a fall release, the 2025 VW Jetta brandishes a starting price tag of $23,295, inclusive of $1,300 destination fees, as divulged by Volkswagen on Tuesday.
The vehicle’s cost experiences a deduction of $165 when comparing to an equivalently outfitted 2024 model, which garnered a TCC Score of 5.7 out of 10.
The option for a manual transmission has been removed. The 2024 base Jetta S featuring the 6-speed manual was listed at $22,660, translating to a savings of $800 compared to the entry-level automatic version.
VW indicates that the persistent demand for more budget-friendly new cars has been driving Jetta’s success in their range. The sedan maintains its excellent value proposition, now with a standard kit that embraces 16-inch rims, newly standard bi-zone temperature control, electric amenities, LED illumination, and a comprehensive suite of safety measures that encompasses automatic urgency stopping, adaptive cruise management, active path control, and sightless zone monitory systems.
While pricing for the Jetta Sport variant remains undisclosed, this model now features an updated countenance complete with a grille-integrated illuminating strip, along with a new fabric interior available in standard grey or black, and bi-chromatic schemes. Enhancements continue with elements like 17-inch rims and thermal front seats.
The Jetta SE editions will inherit the refreshed interior fabric options, the touchscreen coupled with Sirius Satellite radio technology, and a 15-watt wireless device charging feature. The premium Jetta SEL comes outfitted with 18-inch wheels and the grille light feature; it retains its distinction as the sole Jetta variant to offer standard leather interior appointments.
A subtle update to the exterior design ushers the Jetta into the upcoming model year, although powertrain configurations persist unaffected. All variants draw power from a 158-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4, channeling it through an 8-speed automatic to the front wheels.
The performance-oriented Jetta GLI boasts a potent 228-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, with a selection made between the aforementioned 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GLI sedans have been upgraded to include the wireless smartphone charging system, refined voice-recognition functionality, and sensitive controls embedded in the steering wheel.
Announcements regarding the pricing for remaining Jetta models are anticipated later within the year.
