The new pickup truck from Toyota, the 2025 Tundra, is now available for purchase at dealerships with a slight increase in price ranging from $100 to $500. Additionally, a fresh TRD Rally Package has been introduced, emphasizing vibrant decals. The starting price for the base SR regular cab featuring a 6.5-foot bed begins at $42,035, including a $1,945 destination fee, as announced by Toyota on Tuesday.
The pricing adjustments vary depending on the 33 different configurations available for Toyota’s preferred truck model. There are options for two four-door cab styles, extended or crew (no regular cab available), three bed sizes, rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, and two engine choices, one of which is a hybrid model.
The conventional engine, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 known as i-Force, encountered issues after its introduction during the 2022 redesign in place of the V-8. In response to engine complications that led to problems like engine knock, stalling, or failure to start, Toyota issued a recall for the 2022-2023 Tundra and Lexus LX in late May. Following this, Toyota made the decision to replace the engine in the 102,000 affected Tundra and LX vehicles. Owners were also offered a replacement vehicle while their truck was undergoing repairs.
On the other hand, the hybrid variant of the twin-turbo V-6, named i-Force Max, remained unaffected by the recall and subsequent engine replacement.
The 2025 Tundra retains most of its lineup, comprising the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone grades. The Capstone variant tops the price list at $82,670 with four-wheel drive. Noteworthy updates include standard massaging front seats in the 1794, Platinum, and Capstone models, along with the option of a one-touch power-closing tailgate. The SR5 trim now includes a standard power driver’s seat.
What characterizes the Tundra TRD Rally Package?
The TRD Rally Package can be likened to a TRD-lite version, distinguished by bold red, orange, and yellow decals paying homage to Toyota’s victorious Baja trucks from the 1990s. These decals embellish various parts of the vehicle such as the grille, front doors, tailgate, center caps, seats, and dashboard. Equipped with 18-inch off-road wheels fitted with all-terrain tires, Bilstein dampers, skid plates, and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.
This package is exclusively available with the SR5 trim priced at $52,955, featuring a crew cab, four-wheel drive, and a 5.5-foot bed with the non-hybrid 389-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6. Toyota has not disclosed the exact pricing for this package, but an estimated cost is around $2,000. Furthermore, Toyota maintains the element of choice by offering the package with four body color options including Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black Metallic, and Celestial Silver.
