The Chevrolet Silverado EV is set to enter its second year with notable enhancements in both range and pricing.
Chevy’s electric full-size pickup truck was first introduced for the 2024 model year via a staggered launch. The initial rollout included the WT (Work Truck) variant, specifically tailored for fleet customers, followed by the RST First Edition, a limited luxury version available to retail buyers.
For the 2025 model year, the WT now includes several battery options (previously it had only one). The smallest of these is the Standard Range battery, which will be available to both fleet and retail customers for the WT model. Additionally, buyers can select from the LT and RST models, with the RST featuring multiple battery configurations.
The starting price for the 2025 Silverado EV is $57,095 for a WT equipped with the new Standard Range battery, which offers an EPA-estimated range of 282 miles, along with a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds and a payload capability of 2,350 pounds. Chevy has indicated that the Standard Range battery option will be released later this year.
The WT can also be outfitted with Extended Range and Max Range batteries, providing EPA-estimated ranges of 422 miles and 492 miles, respectively. These WT configurations are exclusively for fleet customers and start at $69,495 for the Extended Range battery and $77,795 for the Max Range battery. All WT variants deliver 510 hp.
The improvements in pricing and range represent a significant upgrade from the 2024 WT, which offered only one battery option with a 450-mile EPA range estimate and commenced at $79,800.
The retail version of the 2025 Silverado EV is now offered in a new LT model, starting at $75,195. The LT, featuring the Extended Range battery, provides an EPA range estimate of 408 miles and produces 645 hp. It is capable of towing 12,500 pounds and supports a payload of 1,800 pounds.
An LT Premium Package will be available later in the year, priced from $81,995, and will offer additional features like the Multi-Flex Midgate, Super Cruise, and 22-inch wheels (up from the standard 18 inches). However, the range estimate will decrease to 390 miles.
For 2025, the performance-focused RST has transitioned to a standard production model. It can be equipped with either the Extended Range battery (with an EPA range estimate of 390 miles) or the Max Range battery (estimated at 460 miles). The RST begins at $89,395 for the Extended Range version and $97,895 for the Max Range variant. This model comes equipped with 24-inch wheels and .
Additionally, the RST features the new Sidewinder function as standard equipment. The Sidewinder, known as GMC’s CrabWalk mode, enables the vehicle to maneuver diagonally at speeds of up to 20 mph by coordinating the turn of all four wheels in the same direction. This functionality enhances off-road handling and maneuverability in confined spaces.
Deliveries of the 2025 Silverado EV are scheduled to commence later this year, with all cited prices including a $2,095 destination fee.
Manufacturing occurs at General Motors’ Factory Zero plant in Detroit, which also produces the related GMC Sierra EV, which will receive its own updates in 2025.
