Chevrolet has announced that the 2025 Silverado EV will feature increased range capabilities, a new Standard Range battery for the base WT model, and an additional LT trim that sits between the fleet-focused Work Truck and the premium RST models. This was disclosed on Monday.
The starting price for Work Trucks equipped with the Standard Range battery pack is set at $57,095 (all figures include a $2,095 destination fee). This year’s 119-kWh battery pack, however, will not be offered later in the model cycle, and Chevy has not released a range estimate for it.
Range enhancements are achieved through optimization of various components, including motors, inverters, and the vehicle’s aerodynamic design, Chevy spokesperson Shad Balch informed The Car Connection. The upgraded configuration allows the Silverado EV Work Truck with the 205-kWh Max Range Battery Pack to reach a maximum range of 492 miles, an increase from the 450 miles recorded for the 2024 Silverado EV 4WT. This battery is comparable in size to that found in the GMC Hummer EV.
Unlike last year, the 3WT will now only offer the Extended Range battery, rated at 170 kWh with an estimated 422 miles of range, priced at $69,495. The WT’s powertrain delivers 510 horsepower and 580 lb-ft of torque.
The 205-kWh Max Range battery is projected to provide a range of 492 miles on the base 3WT model, which we estimate to cost $77,795. Buyers may be eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit at the point of sale, subject to income qualifications.
2025 Chevy Silverado EV LT edition
The newly introduced Chevrolet Silverado EV LT is now only available with the Extended Range battery, which offers an estimated 408 miles of range in its standard configuration or 390 miles with the optional Premium Package. The Premium Package includes 22-inch wheels instead of the standard 18-inch, which may affect the range. Additional features include the Super Cruise driver-assist technology and a mid-gate pass-through.
The Premium Package’s offerings are in addition to the standard Multi-Flex reconfigurable tailgate, a 17.7-inch infotainment display, and an 11.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Chevy claims that certain Silverado EV models can utilize DC fast charging at rates up to 350 kW, noting a maximum of 300 kW for the LT model.
The starting price for the LT model is $75,195, with the Premium Package adding an additional $6,800.
Featuring a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain, the LT model delivers 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque in Wide Open Watts (WOW) performance mode. This configuration provides a towing capacity of 12,500 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,800 pounds.
Regarding the RST trim, it now provides a range of 460 miles with the Max Range battery and 390 miles with the Extended Range battery. Previously, its maximum was 440 miles. With the larger battery installed, the Silverado EV RST boasts an output of 760 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque.
The RST models are priced starting at $89,395 with the Extended Range battery, and at $97,895 with the Max Range battery.
Most versions are anticipated to be available at dealerships before the conclusion of the calendar year, and the entry-level Silverado EV Work Truck with the Standard Range battery will follow at a later date.
