The Acura RDX compact crossover has seen significant growth in size and cost over the years, with the starting price for the 2025 model now nearly at the $50,000 threshold. This increase has created an opportunity in Acura’s lineup for a slightly smaller compact crossover, marked by the introduction of the 2025 ADX, which was revealed on Thursday in advance of its market debut early next year.

Pricing details will be made available as the launch date approaches, but Acura has indicated that the initial cost will likely be in the mid-$30,000 range. This price point is a few thousand dollars above that of Acura’s Integra compact hatchback, which shares its platform with the ADX.

The ADX measures 185.8 inches in length, which is just 1.6 inches shorter than the RDX, providing more room compared to competing premium compact crossovers within this price range. It boasts a cargo area of 24.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which can be expanded to 55.1 cubic feet by folding the seats flat. To aid in loading, the vehicle includes a power tailgate with an automatic closing feature.

At its launch, customers will be able to choose between base and A-Spec variants. Even the base model comes well-equipped, featuring 18-inch wheels, a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 9.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The A-Spec model upgrades to 19-inch wheels and provides additional features such as a sliding panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. The A-Spec can also be equipped with an Advance Package that includes advanced technology like Google built-in and a premium 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Several advanced driver-assist features come standard as well, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, active lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition. A surround-view camera system will also be available, standard on the ADX A-Spec with the Advance Package.

The powertrain is comprised of a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT and an all-wheel-drive system that can distribute up to 50% of drive torque to the rear wheels. While Acura has not disclosed specific horsepower figures, the same engine in the Integra produces 200 hp. There is potential for a more potent ADX Type S to be introduced eventually, aligning with Acura’s commitment to offering a Type S performance variant across its lineup, which may utilize the 320-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine found in the Integra Type S.

The introduction of the ADX isn’t Acura’s first foray into the compact crossover market; the brand previously offered a subcompact crossover known as the CDX, which was available exclusively in China from 2016 until 2022. Acura had contemplated bringing the CDX to the U.S. market but ultimately decided against it.
